Specialists in scientific, technical, and patent literature, we recognize
the growing value and importance of timely, accurate, and comprehensive
information. In the domain of our expertise, we assist our clients in solving
information problems ranging from simple to complex. We start with correct
identification of the problem, recommend the optimum solution, and search for
relevant information. In many cases our assistance further includes a thorough
review, analysis, and interpretation of the retrieved information, before
reporting the results.
Our commitments
At InfoSciTech, we are committed to the highest standards of quality and
responsiveness to our clients' needs. From individual inventors to patent agents
and intellectual property lawyers retaining our services on behalf of their
clients, from small and medium-sized businesses to prestigious intellectual
property law firms, from technology transfer offices of universities to patent
departments of large corporations, in Canada and abroad, we provide our clients
with result-oriented, efficient, and fully confidential service. We closely
watch the area of information technology and take advantage of any new
developments and resources which may profit our clients. In our work, we make an
extensive use of the latest technology, to improve cost-effectiveness and
productivity.
Our human resources
As providers of scientific, technical, and patent information, we offer a
background and technical insight difficult to match. Between the two principals
of the firm, we share advanced degrees in chemistry (Ph.D.,
M.Eng.) and electronics (M.Eng.) and a combined 40 years of experience in
scientific and engineering research, in the area of organic chemistry,
biochemistry, pharmacology, and electronics. This experience made us
thoroughly familiar not only with those and related areas of science and
technology, but also with sources of scientific and technical information in
languages including English, French, German, Russian, and Polish. One of us is also a registered Canadian patent agent, having over
11 years of experience in all aspects of patent drafting and prosecution, in
Canada and abroad, and an extensive hands-on experience in patent-related
searching. We combine this unusual knowledge and experience with speed
and efficiency, to provide a quality service at competitive prices.
Our information resources
Matching information problems with the most appropriate information sources,
we design search strategies custom-tailored for speed, comprehensiveness, and
efficiency. In our searches, we make an extensive but judicious use of
electronic information sources, including online-searchable databases offered by
several major hosts (Dialog, STN, Orbit/Questel), various CD-ROM databases, and
information resources available on the Internet. When
requested or appropriate, we search printed patent and/or non-patent (scientific
and technical) literature, usually to locate information missing from
electronic databases, due to their incompleteness or limited time and subject
coverage. Being located in the Ottawa (national capital) area, we take advantage
of direct access to patent information resources of the Canadian Patent Office,
science and engineering libraries of two universities, and collection of
scientific and technical literature of the Canada Institute for Scientific and
Technical Information (CISTI), one of the largest of its kind in the world.
Through our associates, we undertake searches in libraries and foreign Patent
Offices world-wide.
